Very easy Origami Heart Tutorial

 
Lots of pictures to follow and very easy to make. The tutorial continues behind the cut/link under the picture to save your computer from loading all the images in case you don’t care to do heart origami!
  



1. Fold a square piece of paper in half diagonally.

2. Fold bottom corners of triangle to top point.


3. Unfold.

4. Fold top of triangle to bottom center point.

5. Refold the tips of triangle.


6. Fold top of diamond to side. Repeat on both sides.


7. Unfold. Open the fold and squash down to form the top part of heart. Use folded lines as a guide.





8. Repeat on both sides.

9. Fold corners in to make a more rounded shape. Repeat on both sides.

10. Flip over.

11. Fold the corners into the pocket. Use fold marks as a guide.


12. Repeat on both sides.

13. Turn over to front. Fold the top of the heart down. Repeat on both sides.

 On Saturday, Amelia and I made a little project for her preschool class Halloween party – Milano cookie ghosts. She had previously requested that we make a treat that she could help with. Happy to oblige, I came up with the following project, easy enough for an almost 5-year old.


Step 1: buy Milano cookies, melting white chocolate and mini chocolate chips.
Step 2: melt white chocolate in microwave.
Step 3: dip cookies halfway in chocolate and lay on wax paper.
Step 4: decorate with mini chocolate chip "eyes."

Unique gifts: Heart Shaped Paper Clip Bookmarks tutorial

For A Special Valentine

Valentine's Day is around the corner and I came up with a simple little project for our loved ones! It doesn't have to be only for Valentines, it could be a gift for anyone who has our heart, for any occassion, any time of the year. The idea is a crochet heart shaped paper clip.

Confusing? Not at all! It's so simple. All you have to know is basic knowledge of crochet (just the single crochet) and how to bend paper clips (I believe there's noone who can't).

So, the basic materials are... a big paper clip (around 8 cm), a yarn of your choice and a needle for crochet, of course.

First, you'll have to bend the paper clip.

Then start with the main knot on your needle and start using just the single crochet, only each time you go under the wire of the clip.

Continue all the way around the paper clip.

Pick the yarn and turn it under the wire.

then pick some yarn and bring it up again.

Pull it through the first knot

and then another stitch through the other two

In the end slip the last stitch through the other end of the row and tie off.

Just as simple as that!

And in different colours or slip stitch.
